We have recently joined LA as Subject, a research alliance dedicated to preserving and improving access to the archival material of Los Angeles, and are exhibiting there for the first time this year. UA&SC is even featured on their blog and their website home page.

For twenty years, LA as Subject has connected anyone with an interest in the Los Angeles region’s history together with more than 80 archives. The 10th- Annual Bazaar will feature Day of Preservation workshops, a program on how to research historical information about Los Angeles, a discussion on the history of imbibing in Southern California, a screening of Lost L.A.–a new series from KCET on the hidden treasures of the city, and a panel discussion with the authors of LAtitudes: An Angeleno’s Atlas–a groundbreaking new collaboration of cartographers, historians, scholars, and writers. The exhibitors’ hall allows scholars, researchers, archivists, librarians, students, and history enthusiasts to browse the broad collections of the alliance’s members.
