Celebrating Banned & Challenged Books

Cal State Fullerton Pollak Library is hosting a reading on Wednesday October 3, 2012.

Banned Books Week (BBW) is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment. Held during the last week of September, Banned Books Week highlights the benefits of free and open access to information while drawing attention to the harms of censorship by spotlighting actual or attempted bannings of books across the United States. – Source: American Library Association

Poet and Professor of English and Creative Writing, Dr. Irena Praitis
will read from her new poetry book, Straws and Shadows.

12:00pm – 12:40pm: Refreshment/break/book sale

1:00pm – 2:00pm: Library , Campus & Community Reading
