Opposing Viewpoints has been created to help students compile information to create pro/con arguments for a number of controversial issues. The database provides background information so you can be sure you understand the facts, arguments for and against an issue, statistics, newspaper and magazine articles, as well as scholarly journal articles.

CQ Researcher is a great place to look for information about issues that would interest legislators or anyone interested in national or international politics or public policy. Some current reports cover topics such as offshore oil drilling, water shortages, health care reform, war crimes, or micro financing.  The reports include an overview of the topic, timeline of events, pro/con arguments, and a bibliography that provides researchers with additional information sources.
