Ideas for Incorporating Technology in the Classroom

Posted in Faculty, Social Sciences, and Students

Edutopia has released a free PDF, Back-to-School-Guide: Jump Start Learning with New Media.  Geared for K-12 teachers, it offers all kind of tips and tools that can be used by any teacher who wants to integrate technology into his/her instruction.

Some of the tools introduced include:

  • Poll Everywhere, free online polling software that can turn your student’s cellphones into clickers. ¬†Responses are tracked real time and can be displayed in the classroom while you’re teaching.
  • Museum Box, a site that allows students to collect digital artifacts. Students can then interpret the evidence they have collected in order to support a specific point of view.
